You certainly know the personality of cats, lol. Often times I speculate that the 'high quality of themselves' trait is due to being worshipped for thousands of years by the Egyptians; then again, they could possibly have been worshipped because of the quality they exhibited ;)

I have never really had a pet and its nice to know about the demanding ways of a cat. I think any pet that is lavished with love and care can get demanding whether its a cat, parrot or dog. Enjoyed reading this entertaining poem.

If you have a cat in residence, you should be thankful that they let you stay and not be put out at night. This is very well written.

This is so very cute, Roy. I think the life of a cat who is owned by cat lovers have it good. But I feel bad for the strays which I find must be like people living on the streets. They have to eat out of garbage cans if they don't find mice or catch a bird.

I really liked your poem about the life of a cat. Well written!

A cute poem about the life of a cat - like you we own cats and dogs. Cats definitely rule, ever since they wormed their way into our home and our affection.

Lively, colloquial expression and a light-hearted tone.

I'm not a cat person per say - But that is one darn cute picture!

They do march at the beat of their own drums! I suppose that why I like my loyal hounds.

Hi royowen,

Cats certainly have a good life in many homes, but as Lloyd Webbers musical reminds us, some -like us - have it harder. Breaks my heart to see any animal suffer neglect. Mine always get spoiled.

Loved the poem, it certainly speaks of the loved pet.

Hi, I am a lover of cats, I have had them in my life since I was very young, at one time I had the grandmother, mother and kitten, Their nature is a selfish one. But once you understand their way you can have a very good relationship with them. Like us they also have their own individual personalities. I heard recently that a cat only meows to communicate to humans, not to other cats. He will hiss and make that growl sound to other cats, but not meow.

Well written
Mary

We had many cats over the years, we've loved them all, as different from each other as we humans are different to one another, in that time we've had a continuous line of dogs also, they tend to have a more compatible nature with ours, but never less, much loved all! Great review, Mary, and comments, blessings, Roy.

Those of us who have had or have cats really can heartily
MEOW to this witty and charming poem. As you wisely noted
in your AN...cats have staff or subjects' and such is
their demeanor and nature to the nth degree! They are
truly unlike any other pet, and they do 'rule' a household
and the subject who has them! And there is no other pet
to compare them to!
Adorable little kitty picture...at their most innocent,
when asleep....but oh the change when they are awake!
Thanks for sharing, loved your sense of humor and
staunch defense of cats, especially in your last line!
Thanks for sharing..excuse my Qween is restless...must
go attend...LOL...am sure you'll understand...
