As a lover of cats, I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. My Maine Coon cat, George, rules. He even admonishes me. He slapped my hand three times when he didn't want me to take out a small black cord from a zip lock back. He hit my hand exactly like a mother would a child that was going to touch a stove element. Well done!

Heh, heh, they are delightful, our cats used to sit on the books my wife was marking, amongst other things, she once had a nightmare she was suffocating, and she woke up with several cats on her chest! Brilliant review, comments and stars, thank you, blessings, Roy.

I found the title of this poem. I initially thought it wa s going to be a poem about a cat's nine lives. Do they really have nine lives. I know what you mean. There is something regal, almost a little haughty about the way cats move.Made an enjoyable read.

Thanks for sharing!

Cats are animal of 4 legged independence, take me as I am or leave me. I will do as I please says the cat. I would rather have a cat as a pet than a dog. Blessings. Pat

Had to smile at this one, especially as I'm looking at my back door. There is a cat banging his paws on the glass. Not even my cat , but one that visits every day. Oh well, off to let his highness in.

Thanks so much, at meal times, next door's cat would visit and get fed with our cats, then saunter back home! Great review thanks, blessings Roy.

This poem is cute and so true. It shows what a cat is or at least what a cat thinks it is. Very well versed and I like the rhymes in each line. I think you could do a good poem on a puppy.

Hi royowen,

I think it takes a certain breed to enjoy a cat's company. Me, I can tolerate them, even grow to love them. But because my wife adores ours, they have a special place in my heart. As the saying goes, "Happy wife, happy life" and if they make her purr I am all for it. ;) Chrisfiore

Nicely rhymed ode to the cat and its life. This cat looks to comfortable and cute. This poem could be true. I don't remember if our cats were this demanding.

Keep writing

Are you sure my wife didn't write this!!!!! Or more probably it was her cat.

Loved the rhyme, the picture could well be our cat and the message really does apply in our house. I have to seek the cat's permission to share the bed.

I can really relate to this poem, Roy
