I liked your poem. I agree that a cat's life is stress free if they get the right owner. When we had our inside cat, he was a great source of amusement and companionship.
Great rhyme and rhythm. I liked your descriptions. I could just picture the cat sitting on a little throne and the owner placing the bowl of food in front of it while bowing.

I think you've described a cat's life
well - a light-hearted little poem,
which brought a smile to my face...
and the picture so cute.

I'm afraid I chase all cats from our back garden as we have so many birds that are quite time and it's the cat's nature to go after them. One lies in wait on top of the winter jasmine which is flatish, and so frightens the birds. there's often feathers on the lawn.

HAHAHAHA!!! Oh, Roy, my Miss Priss would LOVE this poem, 'cause she is just as you describe (my cat). What a charming and fun read - I have a huge smile on my face, reading this! (Adorable picture you chose too. :0)

Oh, you know them very well, our furry friends. We always had cats. I love them and perhaps I love them even more because they are so unique and don't try to be different just to please us. I like your poem it is well penned and the artwork is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.

We had to make a very sad experience lately. When our old cat died at the age of 17, our 10 year old was so terribly sad and although we gave her a pal in form of a young kitten of the same race, she stopped eating and drinking which, after long struggles, hopes etc. ended deadly.

But I know, it's life. If we decided to live all by ourselves... imagine how much pleasure we might miss.
Sorry to have gone into details.

Never mind their vanity or self-contained grace and beauty; there is a mystic about them. It's as if they connect with a nether world in an uncanny way. Whatever; your poem effectively illustrates the magic of a kitten. They seem to connect with something fine. -Ekim777

like a king. "The life of a cat." Well, the cat is a creature all on it's own merit, and you're right, they demand it all. Well done.

Wow, loved this and loved the picture too. Yes, dogs do have owners and cats have staff. Cats choose who they want to be their friend as well. My neighbour has two cats, love them both, but one.... will have nothing to do with me. He only bothers with his owner. Great rhythm and rhyme and made me want to own a cat again. Trouble is, my dog doesn't get along with cats. So sad. Genya

Cats are where it's at. I know, I have three who have adopted me. I adore them all, plus the seven strays I feed on the side. This was a great little poem, but I wish you could have included some advice to get your cat fixed. There are way too many without a home and the shelters are full of unwanted kitties. It breaks my heart, but I'm doing all a starving artist can do.

As the staff and servant of a 24 pound cat, I can relate to this one. He owns the house and just lets us live here. I love him more than my computer, and that says a lot. Sometimes he will come and sit on my keyboard to get my attention.

This is lovely and so true. I would choose his life over mine anyday!

Great writing, cat poet!
