Thank You so very much for your kind review and the wonderful stars you placed on display for all to see for "Holiday greetings from PruittHealth". I am a Hospice Chaplain and as such I am losing friends all the time and this is my holiday reminder to each of them that they are not forgotten by their loved one, their Hospice friends or God. Hi Dr.: What a lovely idea to write a poem such as this for a holiday greeting card to hospice families. Do you work in a hospice setting? If so, I appreciate what you do, as three years ago a hospice team was very helpful to us at the time of my dad's illness and passing.
I love the sentiment of this piece. It comes across as meaningful and sincere. Its length is appropriate--neither overbearing nor too brief.
My only suggestions, were you to want them, would be in regard to the occasional "bumpy" rhythm and the punctuation. I am happy to share ideas, but am anxious not to give you more than you want or appreciate.
So--I'll give an example of how I would edit the first and final stanzas only, and, if you want more of the same, you can let me know. This is how I would do it:
The leaves have all turned;
most have floated away.
The lawn's rustic brown.
It's another crisp day.
(In this way you avoid the run-on sentence in lines 3-4 and avoid the disruption of your rhythm in lines 2-3.)

just wanted to say:
You remain in our prayers.
Have a blessed holiday!
You may or may not like that better, but I thought I would offer. Best of luck to you!

Debbie I do appreciate your spending your time and attention in order to help me hone our craft. What I have always been very reluctant to do is give anyone my poems for the reason you pointed out. I work hard on cadence and rhythm and I know sometimes in the reading by someone else they don't pick up the nuanced timing I put in my recitation of it. I believe your insights would bring improvement to the reading of this poem. May God Bless you, have a Happy Thanksgiving.

De. Nad, a very inspirational poem to let people know they are not alone and God is there all the time. Although, sometimes it doesn't feel like it. But He said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Such reassuring words to live by.

Hello and welcome to FanStory. I loved this poem, it is nice to remember family. I have lost many of my family in the lead up to Christmas, so it is not a particularly happy time for me, but my family have always loved Christmas and I remember them as well as the family and friends I have left.
