A delightful childhood fantasy at our heroes bedtime. The picture of Sawyer is delightful. I am sure he is slaying dragons in his dreams.

LOL, superb story tale and our hero picture, exhausted after
brave battles sleeping butt up... Love it. Perfect style, fabulous
images, armed with just two swords the skyways saved..... Pili

Beautiful poem. The rhythm and imagery are excellent. I like the conclusion: would have loved to have been read this poem as a child before drifting off to sleep...and then dream of slaying dragons and monsters.

Cute photo, Brooke.

I'd be happy to be able to GET in that position, let alone SLEEP in it. :-)

Great fun tale of the Knight and the dragons, though I wound have preferred the dragons to have won.

Anyway, the 'hero' could have saved himself the trouble by ALLOWING the tides to 'rise higher', as they would have then doused the town's fire. MWAHA.

Cheers, Ray xx

This mirrors the gods of India and their global battles. I still have those conquering dreams, but usually lose a sword or have an untied shoe. Perfect photo.

Oh, the heroic deed performed by little boys! So glad your brave knight is getting his rest. There will be more dragons to slay tomorrow - or other dire quests to undertake. Beautifully done, Brooke! :) Nancy

an interesting and dramatically told little story, but the cute part is the surprise ending relating it directly to the child. Very clever Brooke. Kenny

It sounds all very medieval replete with the legendary monster, the symbol of evil and fiery destruction; something out of hell. There is an innocence about it all. God is in his heaven. All is right with the world. The innocence arises from humanity itself. How different to the monsters that God sent forth to cower the worthy Job. Who of course was redeemed though he was no innocent. But his success paved the way for the coming of Christ. This must have been the second coming. I suppose mankind does progress. Meanwhile our poet has presented us with a charming poem that is not without depth. -EKim777

Every now and then, I have to go the big six on one of your fabulous poems. (I probably could use them all up on you each week, actually). This one grabbed my attention with its fabulous energy and terrific fantasy elements. The knight of the sleepy night, slays the enemy with two silver swords, but with the humility of the knights of old, fails to accept the plaudits of the crowd. He's neatly tucked away in bed catching z' because its all in his head. Clever, delightful ending to top off agreat poem.
