What a great ending! I thought it was just another of your perfect poems, but knowing the story is linked to a sleeping child, makes it even more fun. As always, your poem was a pleasure to read and review. Alexis x

Aha! I was wondering how that picture was going to work into the poem - you saved it until the end. A delightful piece in abcb rhyming quatrains . The little dragon slayer, Sawyer, is tuckered out. Very nice!

Hi Brooe
Well no wonder our hero's sleeping, he's had quite a busy work out with all that sword play. Saving us all from fiery dragons and scaly sea monsters. What a brave lad. A delightful story poem full of the brilliant imagination so appreciated by child and adult alike.
" ... dragons sailed the skyways
and monsters swam the sea, " ... excellent phrasing and good use of alliteration and consonance of 's'.
Excellent rhyme and meter. I love the concluding line and the most appropriate image to complement it. Little Sawyer certainly looks comfortable after a job well done. Warm Hugs to the hero and his grandma - Lovi xoxox

This was superb. I love dragons so just had to read this. Lots of good lines throughout but have to say, the last line, was just brilliant, unexpected and perfect for this poem. Great rhythm and rhyme, a pleasure to read. Our hero saves the skyways. Genya

Both the poem and photo are absolutely priceless. I enjoyed them both immensely. Not much has made me smile lately but I can always count on you to get me to smile.

hahaha Sawyer sleeps like my youngest daughter. Her father find it hard to wake her up in the right side of e bed, but I know how.

Quite the bedtime story. When my two sons were little boys, they enjoyed my reading to them before bed. But, they preferred that I make up stories about giants, etc. with them and their friends involved in the story. Thank you, Brook, for taking me back to that time and some very pleasant memories.

This is my favorite type of story. Knights and dragons and strong, determined men saving the world and then getting their needed sleep. Its only what he deeserves. He probably doesn't want the acclamations anyways.
My sister used to lay like that sometimes.

Never mind Sawyer-even heroes need to rest sometimes.
Brooke, This poem is delightful. I'm sure that the poetry I read as a child was not so interesting and cleverly written.
Sawyer is one lucky little boy to be so spoilt for choice
in delightful poems.
A very effective syllable count format and clever rhymes.
A virtual six.

That is beyond all doubt (for me, at least) the cutest, wittiest poem you've ever written, Brooke.
I had to wait until the final line to switch my thinking from "kinda dark for the kiddies," to "As perfect as any child who could dream it!"
Thanks! And every one of my children slept like that when they were infants. Maybe it's the dragon slaying pose.
