that sawyer is something else, he seems like he is restless in bed and tears up the sheets and blankets in the midst of him dreams. I enjoyed reading this poem, especially the last stanza

Thanks, sweetwoodjax :-) I assume when he is restless in his sleep he is busy slaying dragons ;-) Brooke

Oh, Brooke, I'm laughing at myself because I thought the last line would say because the knight was dead. Hey, girl, it's your fault 'cause this does contain a little violence.
But, seriously, this is a terrific adventure poem for the kiddies. I can just see Sawyer smiling at the end and then being tucked in bed. However, he then is probably saying, "Read it again" for the tenth time. Hugs, Lou

Sawyer's photo is simply brilliant. he sure was slaying the dragons in his dreams and would have moved around quite a lot in his bed. like a true hero he didnt care for accolades but his well deserved rest.lovely poem with vivid imagery .

With darn good reason. All that slaying of monsters and defeating deadly dragons, that is hard work and a fella can get plum tuckered out. So I can well imagine that a big hero like that would need to take a nap. LOL. Brooke, thank you so much for such a fun story. And please thank your daughter for that delightful pic of Sawyer who is obviously deeply into the land of sleep.

LOL that photo of your grandson sleeping butt up is absolutely priceless! I remember when my kids used to sleep like that (VERY long ago!).
A wonderful fantasy dream of a hero knight chasing off the bad guys. The poem has a really good natural flow with good rhyming. I love how you ended it with the brave hero tucked up in bed! I bet this was as much fun to write as it was to read it :-) Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely priceless, Brooke. The flow is fabulous and the music of the poetic devices so skilfully wielded are to numerous to applaud separately, so a standing ovation for the entire effort is in order. - Wendy
