This is an awesome picture. How do you suppose anyone could get a picture of that. The poem is just as awesome. Most of us need a boost from time to time but it doesn't diminish our success.

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my little poem. I have no idea how that photo was taken, but I was so taken with it that I stored it away for future use and voila. A contest appeared. I am glad you liked the poem and the message.
Comment from mommerry
I liked the message in the poem as much as the fact it was perfectly rhymed. You did a good job with this one --- and what encourager wouldn't love to hear it.

Good morning and thank you for reading and reviewing my poem. I am always a proponent of pure rhyme, but kept this simple for the little ones. Thank you for noticing. It is almost always better to encourage, rather than do the task for the little ones - although it takes so much patience . . . .- Wendy

This is amazing!! Such a positive message for all of us--not just for children. Every bit of your poem is extra special. I'm happy to have one last 6th star to give you.

Good morning Marilyn and thank you for the wonderful review. I waited to answer this until the end of the competition so that I could say that we must have been separated at birth. We seem on the same wavelength and I prefer to attribute it to brilliance, in addition to age - and the bit of wisdom that we have earned by hanging around this long and paying attention. Thank you for the six. - Wendy

Hi Wendy. Checked out the results of the contest--congratulations on your big win. Your poem is wonderful. Yes, there are some perks of aging. One of them is to enjoy every day. Best--Marilyn

Very nice. I think the letting go part is the hardest but the children are better off for it and thankful for the space! I liked these lines best:
So now I'm king of all I see.
I'm glad that you believed in me.
Well done and best of luck!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review my words. I love doing the kiddie ones, get to put on my inner youngster for a bit. I'm glad you liked it and appreciate the good luck wish.

Loved the rhyme and rhythm of the poem
Especially I liked the notion embedded in the poem
I have ALWAYS advocated letting people (children are people too) discover their OWN boundaries and decide for themselves what is or is not possible for them...at that stage. It destroys me to hear an adult saying, "don't do that, you will fall!(or whatever)" SHRIEK!!!
This simple poem touched my heart in many ways but above all I rejoiced in the line "I'm glad that you believed in me".
Thank you for emancipating little people to conquer their fears and discover new horizons - for themselves

We are entirely on the same wavelength. I see these helicopter parents who do everything for their kids in a misguided attempt to keep them from anything uncomfortable in their lives. What they do is take away that wonderful sense of accomplishment, the joy in a job well done, and the ability to deal with consequences and try again. I sure hope that some of them read this, recognize themselves as the opposite behavior models and let their little ones free to fly.

Super fun to read... what a delightful way to cheer anyone to succeed. I chuckled at the picture, a perfect choice. Any child or adult would smile at this sweet poetic piece. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for taking the time to read and review this. I am a great proponent of letting kids take their lumps, creating a sense of accomplishment and understanding for the rewards of a task undertaken and finished. I am glad it spoke to you.- Wendy

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read and review this entry. I saw this photo and knew that I had to write to it. He seemed so ecstatically happy sitting at the top of that stalk. It wasn't ten minutes later that this prompt showed up. Guess it was meant to be paired.

Thank you for your kind words, Brooke. Isn't that photo the best? I had just found it and tucked it away to write to later when the prompt showed up. Serendipity!
