Brooke, this is great. I read it several times and laughed my way through each read. Some Side Kicks can hold us back and waste our dreams. Thus, Side Kicks should be carefully selected. I loved he story in rhyme as only you can do it so artistically. Another addition to Sawyer's book. Thanks for sharing. Bob

This is a fun children's tale,I like the idea of a cat as a sidekick who doesn't want to see much action. Your flow of lines makes this a fun poem for children to read out loud and I can also see this poem as a children's book with illustrations.

Hi Brooke, I have to tell you she gets such joy at reading these poems with "Cutie Pie" We both enjoyed this one, we used to do the same with our cats too.
She says " as always your poems are skilled and a delight to read my friend."
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, the pair of you :-) Cutie Pie's parents have departed town for four days on a business outing, so there will be no new pictures of him for days unless I use some old ones. I sure don't know what I'm going to do!! Brooke

I read this to her and she said "ah, no" I think she must feel the same.:-)
I'm trying to slow her down....only a little review time:-)
she said "you're so strict" then we laughed.
Physio work today, she must pace herself, like a snail. LOL

Hi Brooke, what an adorable little epic of children's poetry. Jo's big dreams were tempered by his choice of sidekick, much like many adult relatipnships. We compromise our selfish dreams for those we love. Great rhythm in this write. Well done.

Charming tale of two cats. One was the best of cats. One was the worst of cats. (Did Dickens say that?) One was quixotic, the other narcoleptic. One was hopeful, the other a dope-full of sandman sand. Loved the story, the moral of hanging out with a sidekick on his side, and the eventual achievement of nothing through sloth. There's life lessons to be learned from this tail.
Great fun all round, Brooke.

Oh my goodness. Once I started being funny (so I thought) I completely forgot what I read in teh first verse. Sorry, Brooke. You are too good a poet for me to treat so lightly. Actually, that applies to everyone. Sorry.

I love how you share your beautiful grandchild with all of us. Thank you for reminding me to hunt up the cat who visits with us and put him out. He is much more in to sleeping than adventure as well. Always warm regards, Bill

What a cute story, Brooke about a cat that refuses to help Jo slay dragons and rescue damsels in distress. Reminds me of our cat Callie who sleeps away most of the day. As always, your poem just floats right along with a great little story, wonderful rhythm, and perfect rhyme. Little Sawyer is getting to be such a big boy and cuter than ever.
