Your poem expresses its ideas and moral well. I have to agree with the moral. Some people dominate a conversation and say very little of value.

This is a simple idea - but such a good one. WE never will better ourselves or our thoughts until we become good listeners - of others, not ourselves.

To truly have a conversation it's important that each one have a chance to talk and a chance to listen. That is--you speak--I speak. Many people talk AT others, rather than WITH them--so it becomes a "soapbox" sort of thing. I think the first two lines of last stanza are too long for last two lines and could be tightened up. Overall, I like your premise--but it has to do more with conversation than point of view of either party.

A nice easy read and a bit of good advice This is well written and presents a precise moral statement. I didn't see any typos and it needs no revision. Good luck with the contest! Jim

Me? Wrong? Never. Occasionally I will alter my perfect
opinions to accommodate some large vocal majority who mistakenly insist I am an idiot...excellent

I can elate to this as I guess most married couples would.
You present it so well in your free verse and it would be best if we just listen to another's ideas and thoughts before promoting our own as always right.

This is a good poem to live by. I find so often people do not really hear what others are saying because we are often to busy thinking what we want to say. Sometimes when we really listen to other we will find what we were wanting to say, did not at all belong in the conversation. Blessings, Pat

I think this is why relationships fail so often. They talk but they don't listen. A conversations consists of listening and talking. There is that middle ground you have to find. Great job

This is a wonderful and thought provoking entry for this morals competition, you are of course quite right, we do always push our own views harder, good luck in the contest.

Your last two lines make a good point. It's always wise to listen objectively before you chime in with judgments and opinions. On the other hand, it's important to figure out where you stand on a subject and have the moral courage to maintain your stance if it's in righteous opposition to another point of view. But you don't have to beat them over the head with it...
