Not sure as I should describe this as "beautiful," lol, but it does offer a beautiful and hopeful note of God being there for us- if we want Him. "Sometimes I sense that he's still near," most definitely always is. One of his simplest tools is to just wait until we're wore down, which many of us do quite frequently and easily. Quite an observant piece, frightfully written and presented. Excellent!

Great poem. It had the feel of the devil take Jesus around in the Bible and showing Him the kingdoms of the world to tempt Him. I also got a bit of a 'Dante's Inferno' vibe. I loved your message, 'Never give up hope'. What a wonderful moral. Your rhythm and rhyme were impeccable as usual, as were your descriptions and characters.
Great job, as usual.

Hi Well, a great story poem with a good message. I think also, since the winter is coming and rain is going to rain as it wills...that this poem makes me a bit happier to take the dog for a walk under wet skies:-)

Bravo! Way to go, Dean. This is well worth the sixer. Your poem has so many truths hidden in it. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very strong read.

Okay then, are you channeling one of the Grimm boys? Nah, you're writing for Charlie Daniels ala The Devil Went Down to Georgia....love this, as I do all your work.

I would suspect you dream in BW vs technicolor though your work screams intense red with tinges of lemon-yellow like brimestone.

You must be worn out when you awake from dreams like this - thankfully you can exorcise your demons on the page! Jean

stunning presentation of your poem
good steady use of iambic meter makes for strong cadence when read aloud and good use of enjambment lets story flow from line to line
solid use of rhyming couplets
good alliteration in phrases like spews his sermons
great contrast between the ominous, lurking, tempting demon and God, especially in those final lines

I think maybe you are just too in touch with your inner demons. Lol.
Horrible-truly it is; BUT...as always so perfectly scripted and presented
I feel compelled to read.
Perhaps my problem is that I don't dream enough. A bit of a control freak
who can't let go. Lol.

Apparently Domino2 Ray, has nightmares, I have hardly any dreams, I think I've explained on my page, I see things in the things around, we're all different. But it looks like you were shown the inevitable covering (I hope) beautifully written, in aabb rhyming, metronomic cadence, well done, Dean, blessings, Roy.

This is incredible. Not only is the horror painted so despicably, the poem is rich with meaning and lovely wordings. The dialogue really sets this apart from any that I've seen for a long time. Your indicating of this by light and dark fonts is really creative. So are the demons! One poetry that one should see, read and read again. This is going to be a box office hit. It should. Hats off!! (I'll bookcase it for sure)

That must have been quite a dream you had. It sounds more like a nightmare. You've told quite an interesting and cautionary story in this poem that is also a fun read. Beware the temptations of the one offering so much that is too good to be true.
