Wow! That was very good. I enjoyed the rhyme scheme and the story you told. It was very dark until the light of God shined through.
It definitely makes one think.
Thank you for sharing

Thank you for going back a way and resurrecting this from the FanStory boneyard, Dan.
I appreciate you doing so, and I am very glad you enjoyed the poem.
Have a super Friday, my fiend friend.

Hello Dean! I found this little jewel by chance and I am so glad I did. It is wonderfully eerie. I like how the sound of rain started at the beginning of the poem without the need to push the on bottom. How do you do that? The sound of rain was a great addition to the poem/story. You are the best!

A-h-h-h...trade secrets, my friend. Trade secrets, lol. It's an autoplay code I use to make any video I upload play and remain invisible. Takes a bit of doing, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.

I don't feel I'm one of the best, but I do try very hard to give anyone who cares enough to read my work a shiver or two, if possible. That's kind of you to say, though. I flattered that you feel that way.
Thanks again, Gypsy. I mean that! ~Dean :)

Congratulations Dean on the win, well deserved. A great story of good triumphing over evil and so well presented. Nice finish off with the soothing veil of rain. Well done.

Oh Dean, I loved all of this. I loved the word play, the names, perfect rhyme and meter, at least to these ears and a story as old as time and as new as tomorrow. You impress the sox off me, my friend. I look forward to more of your work.

Hugs,
Gayle

Thanks for taking a look at this one, Gayle. The fact that I can impress anyone with something I've written makes all of the effort and hard work well worth it. This one took over a week to get it just right. Then along came the "New & Improved" FanStory to mess with my formatting, LOL.

Anyhow, I certainly appreciate your very thoughtful review and glowing comments.

All the best to you, my friend. :)

My goodness what did you eat before going to bed? :) What a horrific dream. The visual effects certainly help set this dark tone. I like the reference to water....God's holy water washes us clean. I also liked the way you started your tale mentioning the holier than thou hypocrites. For this you get my last six shooter. :)

Thanks, JM, and I appreciate each and every sixer that I'm lucky enough to get. They give us so few to go around.

That dream was a lot like those scenes in Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol", where the different spirits wisk ole Ebeneezer Scrooge out through his window and show him various scenes of life. Except in my dream, the one doing the "wisking away" was the Devil himself, and his massive, leathery, bat-like wings trailed burning embers that dropped to the ground with each and every gargantuan beat. Although it was freezing outside, the heat those beating, fiery wings were putting off caused me to sweat profusely. I awoke drenched in perspiration, then quickly began jotting down notes on what I'd dreamt. Scared the crap out of me!

Anyhow, I've rambled on long enough. Thanks for your exceptional rating and complimentary review. I sincerely appreciate it!

Good grief! This was horrifying, intriguing, and the sound of rain so much enhanced the message of the poem. This is so powerful that I have to give it a 6.

Well, you have surely done it this time, my friend. You have pitted both factions against each other...and managed to give victory to the good . .Love the rain and its relationship to your cleansing.

Thanks very much, Lois. You picked up on the reasons for the rains nicely.

You know I always prefer good to triumph over evil. I like to think it works out that way in the end most times.

Thanks for the excellent review and six stars. All are appreciated. :) ~Dean
