Kept me guessing till the very end what on earth you were trying so hard to contain! I love the fact that the rhythm of this poem bounces like laughter. Didn't realize that either until the very last word.

Yes, and now you've got me laughing. My youngest is now twenty-three, but I remember well his little smiling face looking up through the colored balls, much like your photo.

...and the laughter of children is one of the perfect things on the planet. And for grams and poppas - it is nirvana - that laugh makes everything sunny. Nice write Brooke. Jean

Hi Brooke,
What a delightful way to describe how Sawyer couldn't stop his giggling. You always amaze me with your original ways of writing about every day occurrences. This is bouncy and fun!
Hugs,
Lou

This is a very cute and amusing poem for children or adults. It leaves us guessing from the start as to what is happening that cannot be stopped. The ending made me smile when I found out what it was.

Is there anything more contagious
than a laugh that can't be tamed?
If there is, I promise you
it simply can't be named!
As Sawyer's laugh slowly bubbled to the surface. . .I realized my grin was broadening :-)
What a great way to start my day :-)

Laughter is such a fantastic thing, and a child's laugh is magical. Your poem tells a great story of the birth of laughter; together with the picture, it makes me laugh!
