Lol. That's so sweet, Patricia. It was a little disorienting reading this from your husband's point of view but that worked for how you were going to tell the story. Wonderful memory and you told it so well!

She hadn't given him more than one bad haircut. Does that mean she gave him one? LOL According to the writing class I took, numbers should be spelled out, and $5 should be five dollars. This was a fun piece to read.

Well done. Sankey already viewed this but it appears Tootsie55 (my wife's old account just up again for any of her trips you have not read)...had not seen this last time around. Nice memory of your dear hubby and NO SPAGS. There is a new rant poem over in sankey if interested. Loved the photo as well.

I like this a lot. It' so evocative of a married couple. Although little actual action took place, the interplay between husband and wife kept my attention throughout :)
Here are a couple of points you might like to consider:
I said reluctantly." -- Spag? Omit the quotation marks at the end?

Thank you for your lovely review. There was little action detailed because I was too busy working to give him a good haircut. We as a couple did have a lot of interplay with our daily lives, allowing us to have a 36+ year marriage before he passed away.

A cute story that reminds me of my own situation. My wife has been cutting my hair for 25 years. I was playing bridge recently and the ladies at the table were talking about their salon cuts. I volunteered that my stylist cut my hear with a nightgown on and that she didn't always wear panties.

Cute. My wife gives me hair cuts just like that. Then she makes me sweep the floor also. Boy am I glad she can cut hair so I do not have to pay those high prices in town. She rarely gets a kiss though. But, I have to braid her hair on a rare occasion.
