Good morning Patricia, This reminds me of my parents just a little bit. When they married, 60 years ago, my father's hair was long enough so bangs gave a little pompadore type of curl at the front. Very stylish. Then came the first married haircut. My father went right out after and got that pair of clippers, gave himself a crew cut and it's been that way ever since! Lol

This was a well-told story about comfortable love between two people who've been together a long time--love with no doubts--which is surely the best kind. I enjoyed it a great deal.

That's a lovely haircut and your husband's hair looks very nice. Some stories seem to write themselves, don't they? I really enjoyed this slice-of-life piece.

This is a cute story. Well-written, interesting. It let the reader get a glimpse into you and your husband's relationship. I agree with your hubby perms do stink. With all this technology you'd think they could improve that. The cost of beauty I guess.

This is delightful. You should do more humorous stories like this. You must have had fun writing this, placing yourself in your husband's shoes when it came to getting a haircut. I would not dare give anyone a haircut. He certainly placed himself in your hands. I enjoyed the reference to the Yul Bryner haircut and the demand for payment for services rendered. $5 sounds about right for that time. Very enjoyable reading. judi

Actually there were a couple of those in the class who were quite critical.

Maybe jealously.

First of all, loved the photo of you and your hubby. At the end I thought you were going to say that it was such a great kiss that YOU paid HIM the $5.00. A really fun read. Marilyn

I can remember when I was young that some mothers cut their son's hair, using a bowl to mark out the torture areas of the cranium for experimentation, result- a very non-cool haircut, subjecting the poor child to ridicule by classmates. Well done Patricia, an excellent article, looking through the eyes of hubby, blessings, Roy

This is a delightful story and very well written except for one teeny tiny typo:
"she took the cape which had written on in bright red letters" - should be written on it in bright ...
Nice to hear that romance still lives for those who are genuinely committed to each other. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.
