Your counting cleverness never ceases to amaze me, Brooke. The one that stayed out all night's probably gone by now too. Hung over, anyway. Kenny

This is a clever way to learn to count backwards Brooke. I also learned a lot about worms. Is it true they can't hear? This is so cute and fun to read. Each stanza is a tiny story about the sad fate of another worm. I never realized worms were so interesting. I believe Sawyer will be especially fond of this one. I am!

Yet another delightful counting poem for children.I love them.I am glad that two survived and one of them opted to crawl back to earth and the other remain to watch the stars. Hope the night owl won't find him. The photo is brilliant an apt one for the poem. How smug the bird look!

I told you before, It is easy to see why you are the runaway #1 poet on this site. I just love your style and ease of read. This is a simple but not simplistic axiom. "Watch Where You Are Going"
I learn from you! Personal Lesson: Poetry subjects are all around you and under your feet!

I've always said it, Brooke. You do these counting poems for children so very well. This one is six worthy, or maybe more. I really loved it. Giddy

Dear Brooke,
And yet another, great little children's poem, to assist with counting. Your ten little worms decrease to only one as the day draws to an end. Each one has met his demise in a very wormlike fashion.
Well done, hope Sawyer is doing well.
:-) Carolyn

It's a lovely poem. Though meant for children, I found it no less interesting. The poem would serve well to teach children simple substraction. It is amusing for the different circumstances narrated for each figure ranging from ten to one. The poem reminded me of lullabies sung by grandmother.

'Ten Worms Emerged' is an extremely well-written and entertaining piece. This poem gives a new meaning to "the worm tuned". It was a pleasure to read and review this talented poet's work.
