Such a delightful poem that also teaches counting and survival or maybe surviving not. It seems so many of your stories relate to something going on with some little darlings I know. Just this morning the three and a half year old spotted dried red worms in the driveway. I quickly told her the worms were bird food and then got her away before she tried to revive one.

Very nice. I like your count down poems. Who knew you could create a story about worms. How did the seventh worm die? Did the cow eat him? Well done.

Thanks so much, Lancellot - didn't the seventh one go down the drain? Brooke

I love your counting poems Brooke. Counting worms will be great fun for children and also for those of us who never grew up.
Very nice rhyme and cadence. Vivid descriptions - fun to read aloud.
Blessings

A good numeracy poem for children who will just adore the worms fate.
I found your poem very imaginative and it your word imagery creative, thanks for sharing. Oh and the robbing with the worm, with the rustic brown font,a good choice.

To adwpearl,
A very enjoyable and dare I say, witty little poem having all the theatrics and misfortunes that worms are not saavy to.
Great children's story with enjambments.
Areas of alliteration: ex.whose wiggle
I chuckled all the way through.

I always enjoy your counting poems for children. They are always fun to read and I envision different reactions the children may give, say or look as it is read to them.

Nicely done. John

Seeing as your notes say it's a counting poem for children, does that mean adults can't like it?? Hmmm.. Maybe I'm not as old as I thought I was :)

Well done, Buck

I think all ten worms and their friends and relatives came
to my place to get in trouble this last wet summer, and
brought all the snails they met. This is a good poem to
make kids think numbers.

this is an excellent write, brooke, I always enjoy reading your counting poem, great imagery about each one, my favorite was the one that ended up as fisherman's bait.
