The white man multilated the women and children and took private parts as trophies. And they called the red man savages.

The Holocaust was as horrible as anything conceived, committed or endured. But, what the U.S. did to the red man, the black man and who knows to who else in other countries...
yet, we're the good guys? A good reminder and truly not one to be forgotten.

A sad and disturbing event and a great choice for this prompt to bring awareness of the unfair treatment of the Indians. Well written free verse and good luck in this contest.

The history of this event is devastating.. Thank you for a very nice review.

The author brings out one of the many atrocities that happened to Native Americans in what was a horrible case of almost complete genocide. The author evoked the emotions that are so real for too many. The author's notes and awesome picture make this a perfect entry. Good luck in the contest. God Bless! ~ Pat

This is a very well written poem/story for this particular competition my friend, it is a record of a shameful episode in America's history, beautifully written with great description and imagery, It left me feeling sad for the Native Indians, good luck in the contest.

We have suffered because we own the land and was invaded much like the Muslims will do here if not stopped before it happens. Wonder if the saying in right about what goes around comes around?

I agree my friend.

It's changed since I read it this morning. It's a bit stronger now, I think. I wonder if you might find a more powerful substitute for "MOMENT has arrived" in line 10. "Horror," maybe? I'm still not quite sure what you meant by "suffers all the blame." Why is she to blame? Or why would she blame herself?

The American Indian who only tried defending what was theirs were always to blame for being there by the white man. When they fought back the best way they could it was their fault in the eyes of the public. I urge to read the true history of what happen, you can find it on Goofle. The White man not only killed all the women and children but mutilated their bodies bringing their private parts into town showing them off as trophies. But it is all their fault?

Unfortunately this is yet another of many like travesties regarding our Native Americans. I suppose like slavery, there is no "making up" for it. Thank you for sharing this important message.

Only good Indian is a dead one is what they say. About like the Moslem's say about the Christians, same thing. Remember, what goes around comes around.

Jesus cries as you cry and remember. I think many Americans were cold blooded to the Indians whom I admire. You were here first. We prayed with the Native Indians in South Dakota for forgiveness on the land and the people years ago. We can learn from each other. The English gave blankets filled with small pox disease to the Indians as our country was being settled. I cried for the Indians.
Thanks for sharing your story. God bless! <><

It was a so called preacher who led the charge and allowed the mulitations. Not a real Jesus man. Thank you much
