Lightning at a distance sometimes does look muted - but up close it does scorch. The imagery in your haiku is very clear and jibes with the picture. Best of luck in the contest.

Soft light ... I might not generally consider lightning as soft, but heat lightning is simply a flash and wave... Great photo choice with this. Many good wishes for the contest. AT=/
