I really enjoy your poetic views and philosophy you should delve more into this area of your writing. You are very wise and have a lot of life experience. You know how to temper your thoughts with wisdom. This is just an outstanding piece of poetic art with a great message rolled in through its thoughts... John

I guess Halloween & some of its traditions are incorporated that could cause one to doubt a real God & more turning to a pagan way of thinking...Quite the poem to contemplate & can cause one to consider, Yes, it seems to be a horror poem to be presented with this type of teachings.

Hi Brooke,

Yikes! You're getting more and more macabre'. I'll be glad when Halloween is over and you go back to happy stuff, lol. I'm just funin ya. This is a terrific poem.

A-h-h-h-hhhhhhhh... that all important final lesson, and one we're all taught sooner or later. Death does not bargain. Death will never wait, nor discriminate as to age, race, color or creed.

He is an equal opportunity destroyer.

Well done, Brooke...

That's scary, morbid, and right for the season. And that picture is awesome. It goes well with the poem. As always, your writing is great.

life has one lesson left to teach- a hard hitting line repeating in your quatern .We all know this ,but prefer not to think about it. The scariest part is that we dont know when the icy hands would grab us.Halloween is the best time for such thoughts ,I suppose.

Wow, this is a scary one!...
The others have themselves to save
from hands that grasp them from the grave.
And the artwork is compelling. Good one.

You are so right and Halloween seems like a great time to publish this message which you have written so perfectly. This is a keeper, for sure. Sawyer may be a little young for this kind of knowledge; but, it is a fact he will need to know as he approaches his teens. Thanks for sharing this excellent write. Bob
