Brooke, This is such a cute poem. I especially like the last line, 'and let him think he'd won' How true is that? Super job, really enjoyed it and loved the pix of the kids. Judy

This must be Sawyer's other costume--Luke Skywalker! They make a handsome couple--Chloe's flowing locks are remarkable. I didn't realize they go to the same school.

I really enjoyed your woman's point of view in these clever, rhymed quatrains. Here's to letting the guy "think he'd won"! Cheers- Joan

no, Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, but you're close LOL Yes, they live a couple blocks from each other, and this private school is just a couple blocks from their neighborhood. So they get so spend lots of time with each other. Sawyer only goes three days a week for half day sessions, but when Chloe gets out in the late afternoon., then Myra, their shared nanny, takes care of both of them at Sawyer's house. :-) Brooke

I always mix up those characters!

My, Sawyer and Chloe are like siblings, but they really like each other, which is not always the case with blood relatives! I always think of the story of my husband's cutting off his sister's curls with a hedge clippers--she is two years younger and clearly was not a welcome intruder in his territory! LOL -J

Chloe did have a really bad few days a couple of weeks ago and bit him twice LOL - but mainly it is kissing and hugging and hand holding :-)

Ouch! I imagine he quickly forgave her--I'm not sure my sister-in-law ever got over losing her blond, Rapunsel curls!! Enjoy your Halloween and more reports about the kids, if we don't talk before- Joan

Hi Brooke,
first of all... is that the cutest visual I've ever seen?

And as usual, you have composed a seamless flow to a wonderful story of time and space... to the quest of men and the knowing of women... a true delight and a pleasure to read.

With our thoughts we create,
the fun in the chase,
James xx

Strong rhyming structures.
Clever subject matter in remake of classic fairy-tail.
Quick rhythmic quatrains were delightful.
Sweet humor and light hearted banter of main voice character made me read with a big smile.
Well done.

Brooke, this is such a cute poem and oh how true? Every man, young or old, need to feel like a hero. It is our job as women to help them. LOL

Beautiful picture of the children.

''and let him think he'd won''
Great twist, great ending. I sometimes like to see the unexpected. The thought, the creativity that even such a short line can bring.
Nicely written.
Best wishes,

How does one define a hero at any age. It is one who rescues the maiden or the pot o' gold as he rescues his soul. It is surely not all action. "I said to my soul be still/ And let the dark come upon you/ Which shall be the darkness of God." As Rapunzel is a legend. Let her have the last say. -Ekim777

Brooke - how you remain so consistent is incredible. Of course, I started with the photograph which brought a smile my way and then the easy flow of a pleasant poem, beautifully written and presented. It all worked! Bill

Brooke, this work is so endearing! Again there is not much I can say about your work which has not already been said. You are phenomenal and I just walk away and scratch my head always asking, how does she do this every day?! P.S. The pic is precious and I can see how inspiration just keeps knocking on your door..
