I love this one. It is super wonderful! Your message is so true and the ending is perfect. You have the male of our species sized up perfectly. Perfect rhyme and rhythm. A delight to read!

I love this dear picture of Sawyer and Chloe
that must have inspired this sweet poem.
Excellent rhyme and meter throughout.
Nice use of enjambment.
"let them play the hero" - the way to a man's heart!

A bold cheer for all the smart Rapunzels out there. It is indeed true that the rescue is usually for the benefit of the knight. After all, is it really so bad to be locked away in a tower when it comes down to it? The maiden has her TV (okay, the birds singing in the trees and flying by) after all.

Well, how do you like that? Think you've got us
all figured out, do you? Well, listen here, missy, just wait 'til the next time a dragon is breathing down your neck. Or an ogre lurks in your boudoir. Ha! Who're you going to call then, huh? You're sewing club? I think not, your highness!

Sure, Brooke, pull back the curtain. Are there no illusions sacred?

Peace, Lee

Ogres lurking in the boudoir, sounds pretty appealing to me ;-) Nobody has been lurking there for many a year! LOL When Sawyer was only 18 months old this little girl set out to snag him, and boy did she cast her spell. He was definitely NOT one to be a kisser and hand holder when she started her campaign, and now he just lays one on her cheek and hugs her right back without putting up a struggle at all. ;-) Thanks so much for the pretty six stars, Lee. And no, at least this illusion has been pulled away :-) Brooke

My dear little granddaughter loves Rapunzel in an updated version of the Brothers Grimm classic, the modern version is called "Tangled". Your usual well crafted, beautifully designed and composed work, with a metronomic, rhythmic meter to it, the subject matter is great, the storyline aimed well, the abab rhyming so good, I loved it, blessings, Roy.

Neither boys, nor men will understand the guiles of the female mind. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a good read.

Charlie, thanks so much. In Sawyer's case, he just gave in when Chloe set out to capture his heart. They are the cutest couple I've ever known :-) Brooke

What a sweet little treat! And it goes perfectly with the cute picture of Sawyer and Chloe. I like the way you've woven a story of how Rapunzel chooses who her hero should be. And then, as always, a wonderful message about how we really should treat our partners.

"I'd hold my hero to me
and let him think he'd won. "

There couldn't have been a better ending than this. Perfect rhymes, and a perfect poem.

Brooke: you have that right . . . false bravery by men is all puff out the chest and ACT like heroes but woman usually can take care of themselves. I do believe some day in the not too distant future that we will be seeing the wedding pictures of Sawyer and Chloe. She loves him and wants to take care of him and he is not quite sure what to do with her but he is enamored. Friends for life, those two. The poem is nicely done in rhyme, fun to read. livelylinda

Thanks so much, Linda - she knew from the start a year ago that Sawyer is her guy. LOL He came around much faster than we thought he would - he kisses her little cheek and happily holds her hand and returns hugs in a way we never would have predicted :-) Brooke

Adewpearl: What a sweet photo and poem. I like the rescue's just for show and I'd hold my hero to me. What a sweet friendship with Sawyer and Chloe. I like the If-Then-When ideas and Sawyer being the hero. Well written!

Thank you so much, my generous friend :-) Chloe set out to catch Sawyer a whole year ago, and he has been hooked on her for almost as long :-) Brooke
