I'm looking to buy an island just like this, Neonewman. You wouldn't happen to know where one is available would you, LOL?

Anyhow, you haiku...or 5-7-5...whichever it is (to be honest, it reads more like haiku than 5-7-5) is spot-on per contest guidelines, utilizes wonderful consonance of 'S', particularly in your second line, and sums it all up with a satirical satori.

Looks like another winner to me. :}

Wow! As a lover of the sea and tropical islands, this haiku was especially pleasing to me personally, but I see how it won the contest too - wonderful imagery connected - excellent kire and satori is a delight.

This is a feel good poem. I like the image of a new island being formed and welcoming new visitors. Congrats on winning the contest and taking the reader on a short vacation.

I like the concrete imagery you have created and the syllable count is right on.
The island sprouting accompanied by the lovely picture of an island is a delight of words and imagery.

Hello Neonewman, Great haiku format and imagery. I can see why your poem was the contest winner. I especially liked:

trespassing allowed
