ABAB rhymes and colorful imagery, although gramps's behavior rings a hair eccentric, makes for a traditional Halloween-flavored work. Excellent.

This is so cute. Great Halloween poem with a little
twist.
Wasn't sure where it was going but it ended in a delightful
way.
Great imagery and rhyme throughout.

"Oh, Granddad, don't be scared...it's only us!!" I love this little line, last night my twin nephews came over to show me their costumes, Batman and Spiderman. They are 3 and thought they could scare me with them LOL. I love this time of the year. God Bless!

    I love it too, my grandchildren are all ready with their costumes, and the face painting is ready. They love it and think it is so funny when we pretend to be frightened, LOL. Thank you so much for you lovely review! :) Sandra

Lol what a surprising ending to this delightful Halloween poem Sandra. I was expecting a frightened little kid not granddad. Excellent alliteration and imagery.

Loved the photo to compliment your quatrains. You manage to suck the reader in in the first place - creating a creepy atmosphere was great and holding the reader's interest until the end and then - bringing a belly-laugh! No wonder you achieved All Time Best!

Halloween can be enjoyed by one of any age. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.

Hi Sandra,

I didn't know where this one was going. I'm so glad it had that cheerful ending. Maybe it's just my somber mood (put my cat to sleep on Friday), but I think this would work well for middle readers, not kiddies too young.

    Thank you so much for your lovely review, Lou. I don't think it will go any further than on here, so the little ones are safe! lol.

    I am so very sorry about your cat, Lou, I know just how hard and sad it is when that has to happen. We had to do that a few years ago with ours, she was 18 years old, and left a big hole in our hearts. We have another now, who has totally taken us over, I just don't know how I will feel if she had to be put to sleep, she is just 5 years old, so hopefully she will be around for a good few years yet.
