HAHAHAHAHA!!!Poor, dear Grandpa, all those monsters, ghosts and goblins out to get him every year! You've penned the most CHARMING poem, Sandra - an absolute delight! Rhyme and meter are great too (as usual).

Very well done. This Halloween story carries all the elements of scary fear, elderly confusion, and impish fun. Wonderfully meter and abab rhyming. Loved the creepy imagery.

Hi Tom! I am glad to see you back, I've been away for an age too. How is your book doing? I have a mountain of reviews to do, so bear with me, thank you for your lovely review on my bit of fun. :) Sandra. xsx

Very, verrrry cute poem, Sandra. Just one little nit. Remember that rule about never separating the subject of the sentence from its predicate using just one comma? You did it here: The candles on the mantle, flickered low

Remove the comma to make it correct. Oh, and one more thing....

BOO! :)

LOL! Phyllis!!! How much whiskey did you put in your cereal milk this morning! LOL! I have removed the comma, thank you my dear, sometimes my mind gets all fuddled, you know what it's like, don't you? Hehehe. :) When am I going to get to read the next part of Blaze? Have you just posted it without me seeing? Hope you are still having fun, (after this review, I think maybe you are! LOL) xsx Sandra

I have NO TIME to write on weekends now, so probably Monday for Blaze. I do have a penguin halloween thing ready to do tho, and I'll post that later today when more people on THIS side of the pond are awake. I am awake because I never went to sleep. Think I might do that now. Zzzzzz... :)

What an interesting story you have nicely woven into a poem! Children often inexplicably enjoy more teasing and playing with their grandparents than thier parents. The grandparents also are more comfortable having fun with their grandchildren.'He smiled because he knew who would be there' is just one such affirmation.

Yes, I have to admit, my hubby and I love it when the grandchildren knock on the door. We have to play our parts too, and that adds to the fun. Thank you so much for your lovely review. :) Sandra

I think those demanding 'Trick or Treaters' are every bit as scary as the other horrors of Halloween = How to keep up with the trends, to provide "Acceptable" treats, or be plagued by the consequences [shudder].

I know just what you mean, I do hate Halloween films, they really do scare me to death! Thank you, LadyCosgrove, for sharing your thoughts. :) Sandra

Very inventive Halloween tale with a lovely surprise ending.

You do a good job of gently misdirecting the reader to promote that ending too.

The verse is perfect in meter and rhyme. Loved it.

This took me in two directions. At first I thought it was going to be scary and it turned out to be cute. Very well done as always Sandra. Rox

Cute. The poem had me going until the end. Grandparents look forward to seeing their Grandchildren dressed up. Like the ABAB rhyme.

It is a fun time, and the excitement the children feel is easily transmitted to us old grandparents, lol. Thank you so much for your lovely review. :) Sandra
