To adewpearl,
I never viewed Hallowe'en as a happy time as I always felt it opened up the doors to devious pranks and youngsters sure do not need fear to overcome their lives.
But neighborly ghouls can be helpful in this day and age.
Done well with enjambments in the ABAB rhyming form.
Alliteration: goofy grin, happy" in Halloween, grimacing, grim

Thank you so much - I've always been lucky enough to live in places where only the cute trick or treaters came around, not the people who slash tires and other destructive things though I know they exist. Brooke

I like the theme of the monster being different, not scary but a hugging typt of character. A ghoul ought to partner with hairy bugs is my favorite line,it is humerous and stereotypes the ghouls and monsters of Halloween.

Oh, I can't wait. I loved Buzz Lightyear. Well, I finally got to see Sawyer's costume. This is what I've been waiting for. Loved the poem for that cute story. Loved the bright green color with the black background that really brings out the spook in Halloween. Great job. GO Sawyer!
but no one wants monsters with boyish charm,
too busy with smiling to threaten harm. [favorite rhyming lines]

This is cute and funny just perfect for the upcoming festivals. Your wonderful rhymes tell a sweet tale of the not so horrible monste that moved next door, which does make for a good laugh. Wonderful poem, Brooke.

Very good and amusing poem. How 'bout it?? A friendly monster?! Maybe when he gets older he will know how to scare and bother. When I trick or treated, friends and I soaped windows, played ding-dong ditch, lit bags of dog poop, rang the bell and ditched....We were REAL monsters, lol!

a poem for Nora and Sawyer 'Monster Who Moved to My Neighborhood.' What a lovely poem about friendly monsters. How amazing is that for kids to love monsters as well. Even if they are friendly. Well done.
