Our little green monster ready for the night prowl. Looks like he is ready for the bag of candies. Hope you guys have nice Holiday. Blessings to you. Had to catch this one before going to bed.

Whimsical and delightful. For the most part your poems always make me smile :) Sawyer is looking great. Love the monster/goofy grin antithesis. Hugs - xxx

Yes, I can see how a monster like this one would not be likely to frighten anyone. He is too cute. That smile would light up a house of horror and turn it into a 'palace' fair.

Brooke. Sawyer is just so precious.
Your grandson steals the show...monsters or not.
Oh so cute.
Those kind of monsters are the only monsters I like.
Great tribute.
Have a most blessed evening.

You really know how to get inside a kid's head, Brooke, and write such entertaining poetry. I enjoyed your Halloween poem with your AABB and delightful imagery.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Brooke, this is so cute. Of course, you have such a
loveable monster. He'd never make anyone scream or
cry. good alliteration in gruesome gory ...grimacing
grim....and goofy grin.

This is cute, Brooke. I was just wondering if this had any scheme other than rhyme. I mean as far as meter wise. When I read poems. I just like to know which type I just read, to help me know what can I learn from it.
Thanks for sharing. Very cute indeed!

a MONster who MOVED to my NEIGHbor HOOD
reFUSes to ACT like a MONSTer SHOULD
I start each line with an iambic foot followed by two anapestic feet followed by one final iambic foot - it is mixed meter but the pattern is consistent in each line Brooke

This is such fun. Personally, I prefer the happy, smiling monster over the scary ghoul. We need more like Sawyer, so lighten up grandma, give the kid a break. I enjoyed this very much and am looking forward to Buzz Lightyear...now that should be a fun one.
