This is the kind of story that really reaches the reader. I think most people have had to deal with the barbs of an unjust universe at least once in their lives. Grayson's story as it revealed a connection the homeless man's- brings together two hurting human beings who have been touched by tragedies.
Although the writing could benefit from some editing and polish, the flow and pacing are very good, and any rough spots hardly distract from reading the story at all. I know that it touched me, for sure. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Two sad stories in one with only a partial happy ending. I hope the homeless man was rewarded something for his care and concern. It's good to know Grayson is getting better each day.
Well done, Buck

What an absolutely beautiful story. God does work in mysterious ways and through unsuspecting forms. He takes care of us when we believe and trust him. Thanks so much for posting this.

Wow! First of all, thanks for sharing this update. None of us who read the original story has forgotten it - it's good to know that "moments of blessing" continue. When someone tells a true, powerful story like this, it's easy not to give the writer credit because all they're doing is repeating what happened - but this is beautifully organized and beautifullly told. The last two sentences stopped me in my tracks and made me realize again tat we're all connected and we live in a world where there is more to life than meets the eye.

Beautiful, beautiful story - thank you.

This is a well told and very powerful story. At first you think the cross had been brought back but then we find out the truth and the terrible tragedy that this man has been through. The last line was simply put but that added to the impact. Nice work! Good luck in the contest!

I give you a virtual six for this! Great story! Very passionate and tender and sad. My emotions were sharply tugged. Good to know that Grayson is doing better. And bless that man looking out for the cross!

Peace,

Mike
