Beautiful and so very true. Not to be critical, but I think this would read a bit smoother if in the second to last line, transcending was changed to transcends or something else. Just my thought. Congrats on winning the contest. Have a blessed day, my friend~Debbie

Usually I refrain from commenting on religious based poetry, in the belief that not all will agree.
This, however, has such potent imagery that I felt compelled to respond. Well done!

I'm so pleased I popped in and read
this - All about nature and Spiritual
as well - the flow to words, and to
both rhythm and rhyme, all excellent.
Congratulations on your win, Roy

Hi Roy

Congratulations on the win in this contest. Beautifully written in perfect meter and excellent unforced rhyme. What a lovely concept and fantastic presentation. Simplistic in nature and profound in meaning: -

"The Alpha and Omega,
Beginning and the end;
Life's only source, Creator--
From Him all life descends," ....

This is a spiritual poem ... one of the best I've read. I'm so pleased it brought you a win.

As a devotion, as a poem, your writing is pure elegance and simple understanding ... how could anyone ignore such faith? This one is special Roy. I hate that I don't have any sixes left, which your poem truly deserves. Warmest hugs - Lovi xoxox

The autumn leaf reminds that life is like an autumn season.Earthly physical life is a leaf(life on earth deposed.)Life's only source is the Creator.Believing the gospel story on the death of Our Lord Jesus Christ at the cross,His shed blood for the forgiveness on sins and resurrection is the cycle of life.Man's spirit is quickened and alive in God's love..John 3;16.. For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only begotten Son and whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.A great poem with significant meaning on a true life.Thank you! Congratulations!

Glad to see the Sa writer's rep win the big ones. This little beauty is lovely using subtle natural imagery to link life cycles with the eternal cycle of God's love. Brilliantly devised and written. Congratulations. It's good to see you acknowledged for your skill and work for the Kingdom.
God Bless.

Thanks for the inspiring review Mark and congrats. Don't often go in comps, but glad I did! How'd you go with the "ferals" on your trip? Survived I see! Blessings, Roy.

I really enjoyed it until the eleventh line. I'm not an atheist in fact I believe in all gods. But it comes across as bible bashing. The first ten lines are very beautiful to read.

I can't separate them, question is all humans are "religious" where does yours find it's home? Don't you "bash" people's ears about your opinions and beliefs, or do you remain absolutely quiet about them? Thanks for your review! Blessings, Roy.

I've never been particularly hip on spiritual poetry as it just seems so hard to assume that I know enough to write about it. I did enjoy this write particularly the last two stanzas. They brought it home for me. xoxo Kiwi

It's not religious writing as such, it's about the cycle of life and death! it's very much in evidence all around, I can't separate the visible from the invisible, thanks for the great review, Blessings, Roy.

Beautiful, just simply beautiful. There are times when I wish that is all I was allowed to say and nothing more. You have created a wonderful metaphor here, and I like it. Another way to see the beauty and wonder God has bestowed on us through the sacrifice of his Son. Beautiful...
