My first six star review since returning to the site, and it's no surprise it went to you. It's obvious to see you're still Fan Story's reigning Queen. This poem was simply exquisite! I love a story well told with a positive message to boot, and you never disappoint. I especially have a penchant for the portrayal of fairy tales. As always your poems teach me so much with rhyme, and imagery. Thanks for sharing. ~Vikki

I have an affinity for poems about Fairies. This appeased my appetite. Great rhyme and and awesome story. Your final stanza sums it all up nicely.

Great job, Brooke, with your story poem. Wonderful alliteration of Fairies of Ferndale Forest and other examples as well. Your abcb rhyme scheme flows smoothly. I enjoyed the story. 8-)

Hi Brooke
What a delightful read. A story garnished with a huge challenge which the fairies rose to meet. A great metaphor and your wisdom shines as bright as all that fairy dust. I wonder at the "doom .... fast approaching" and certainly a "grievous and tragic fate". Beautiful imagery in your first verses, the gloom and the challenge to be faced ... a solution from a courageous leader and resolution.
We might need more than a handful of fairy dust ... you make me imagine a world where all of those who love and care beamed light into the universe and the stars reflect all that passion back to all on earth with wisdom and compassion.
An abundance of excellent alliteration, assonance and consonance creating a melody and echo to enhance your fairy story. Aaah if it could be real life and not fantasy. Perfect meter, lovely presentation, timely wisdom and as usual excellent poetic technique. Love the alliterative title. Deserves a six, only fives left. Hugs - Lovi xoxoxo

Cute fairy story within a poem. Nice imagery and excellent rhyming and use of descriptive language to create an aura of fantasy. Lovely picture and most enjoyable. Faye

I love this story, Brooke, and the moral of the light making the darkness disappear. When I was reading the beat reminded me of a Christmas story and the title reminded me of Sherwood forest and Robin Hood. I really enjoyed it and please don't think I'm crazier than normal. LOL Blessings and hugs

Wow is all I can say. I really enjoyed this and felt I was in the forest watching the events unfold. I could really see this as its own story.

This is wonderful, Brooke. I haven't checked in for a while, but what a way to kick off reviewing. I started with the best and this is among my favorite from that best of best, you. My God, this is good. It read and feels like one of the old classics and is as good as any poem of the sort I have ever read. I am flat-out humbled by this work. I wish I had half the talent. Truly, I am awe-struck by this poem. It reminds me(I do not know why) of something my mom read to me long ago. It is a memory just a bit too far back for me to capture.
Simply, perfect. Take good care. I am so worried about Maureen and hopeful and am praying a lot. It really is striking how much I value the friends on this site. By the way, I hope all is well with Sawyer. As ever. Bruce.
