To me this is very nice, I remember reading about the Dust Bowl and I have photos from a book, some stayed in cardboard houses, it is so sad. I never realized how bad this country was at times until I started reading different
materials. If it not one thing, than it is another that keeps a person down.
You have the correct amount of syllable for a 3-9-3.

You have met the contest requirements nicely. I like your interesting twist to this prompt as it stands out and the satori is stunning - might I suggest a couple of changes?

where bureaucratic cruelty ignites
grapes of wrath ............. present tense lends more impact to the satori and the first line ends cleaner yet still connects with the second line. Just a thought.
