Fun and unique. Timely for the Halloween season. Good flow and rhyming, as usual, as well as fine phonetics in poetic devices, like the alliteration in these stanzas, especially

When crows are congregating
and bats are swooping low,
he stares with eyes aglowing
till off in space they go.

and

When ghosts set stairs to creaking
and rattle rusty chains,
he scolds them into silence
till only peace remains.

and

No ghoul gets past the boundaries
my bodyguard has built -
and those who try are sorry,
but cannot flee their guilt.

Hair and there is a good rhyme pair

Good job and fine presentation.

Love,
rd

Now, I'd like to have a Jack-O'-Lantern friend like that! And what a perfect name -- Jack! This is a great poem, and I can only imagine what Sawyer thinks of it, Brooke.

Your rhyming is perfect as always, and your alliteration makes the words flow wonderfully. I love the progression of Sawyer's growth in your artwork. So cute.

Thanks for another truly fun poem, Brooke. Alana

Hi Brooke,

I hope you don't mind that I'm cracking up. I know it's not classified as humor, but it sure gave me a few laughs. I need to get me my own Jack-O-Lantern - I had no idea they were so useful. 'Jack always has my back' I just love that!

Hugs,
Lou

Valerie, thank you so much :-) Last week his dad told him he remembered when he was just a baby and now he's a little kid, and Sawyer objected that he is a BIG kid LOL :-) Brooke

How cute. 'Little' kids do not like any words that describe them as 'small'.

Now he has blossomed into a handsome little dude. I know he is not spoiled. Grandmother would never do that. She did it again , Sawyer.

Ben, thank you so very much :-) Actually, I am not a spoiler, at least with things. He has a house full of stuff, a hoard of stuff, so Grandma doesn't add to it. LOL :-) Brooke

My Mary can not admit to that. We love them just the same.

This is a delightful poem Brooke in good abcb rhyme and a nice change from all the 'ghoul' poems. Such a lovely triplet of pictures of Sawyer and Oh the change that has taken place in 2 years. How quickly they grow - it's frightening! Warm regards Dorothy x

I really enjoyed reading this fun poem regarding Halloween. Sawyer must be old enough to start appreciating your poems by now. I reckon he is going to love this one -- it's such fun!
