The little lad will really love it this year! I like how you've given the child something of a 'safety blanket' here, Brooke. So clever, turning the Jack-O'-Lantern into a protector and guardian on what can sometimes be a scary night for little kids. :)

I just love the throwback photos of Sawyer. I sometimes feel like he is my grandchild. LOL. Great buddy poem. Made great fun to read and visualize. Gretchen

Your Halloween poem is a delight. I could use someone like Jack to have my back, too. I so enjoyed looking at Sawyer for his last three Halloweens, Brooke. How's he doing in school now?
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

JUst look at how much he's grown! It's good for kids to know someone has their back, and on a scary night, why not a Jack to light the way? :)

Thanks so much, Phyllis. A few days ago his daddy said to him - I remember when you were just a baby, and now you're a little kid. Sawyer retorted - I'm not a little kid. I'm a big kid. LOL :-) Brooke

How quickly they grow up! The three pictures side by side tell a story! Those Halloween nightmares sure do melt away when you have a good friend like Jack to keep them at bay. Back-to-back buddies take some beating! A lovely poem that many a young man could relate to!

Your little guy should feel safe if he has his jack o'-lantern this year. Cute picture growing up and enjoying Halloween. Good use of imagery and rhyming to convey your message. Fun poem. Faye

That's one Jack no kid would ever tell to hit the road. Especially when his plastic cousins with handled are experts at filling themselves with candy. Great Halloween poem.

An excellent series of stanzas with perfect rhythm and cadences; the words fit neatly into the stated 7,6,7,6 parameters, building up to a chilling and prophetic final quatrain. Good effort

You really are on a Halloween roll--and with good reason, with this sequence of photos to inspire you. I enjoyed your rhythmic, rhymed quatrains and the comfort of knowing your "back" is well protected! More hugs from Boston- Joan

Thanks so much, Joan - Miranda's doing it up big time with Sawyer has me in more of a holiday mood than ever. He has reached the age where he truly appreciates all that is going on. I'm sure he will carry on his Momma's huge appreciation for this day - and she is just loving it :-) Sawyer isn't the only love of Grandma's life LOL
