This is so well done. Another delightful read. I always look forward to your cheerful poems. I especially liked that Jack is your friend and has your back. Excellent job! Boo-tiful!

And you've done it again. Outstanding artwork of darling Sawyer and a poem that sings and makes me smile. I really didn't enjoy poetry very much until I started reading yours. I don't drift off into la-la land when I read your verses or get lost in between pages of a Webster's Big word contest. Every line is understandable and BELONGS. So many great lines in this one--scolds them in to silence (ghosts) and pulls the fangs from vampires. But the very best is the last, Jack always has my back. You deserve another really big SIX for this one. Congratulations. Can hardly wait for your posting tomorrow.

Oh, as good as Jack is, I imagine something could be conjured up to take him down. You know what they say, the rounder they are, the faster they roll, and so do their heads. Most ghouls, goblins, serial murders and demonic entities have no guilt nor shame they feel the need to flee from. In fact, they revel in depravity and debauchery.

That being said, I enjoyed the rhyming, as well as the premise of a guardian pumpkin named Jack.

Good stuff, Brooke.

Hi, Brooke,

Love the progression in Sawyer's age for each Halloween.

Fun poem about the holiday and how Jack will always have Sawyer's back.

Cheers & Blessings

Brooke: This should have a ten! I like that Jack always has my back and the children don't have to fear. Great alliteration of warn those witches and bodyguard has built. Adorable photos of Sawyer, sitting still and running a race. Kids know how to have fun. We can become younger by watching them in joy. Great poem. God bless!

Brooke, this write has such a positive spin on how children can view something that is fearful for them. The meter is musical and the b b rhyme engaging. Nicely done. :0 GracieAnn

Hi. As aways you bring a smile to my face. This wee one, ah, I will never look at my badly carved pumpkin the same. Now I know he is my body guard, the fire crackers that scare me, will never make me flich again:-) padumachitta

Love the angle of a Jack--O'-Lantern always having his back. Very clever. This read like a story, which is meant in a good way. Perfect poem for the approaching holiday. Enjoyed.

Cute Halloween poem. Fun to see Sawyer over the three years. He is still enthused with the pumpkins. Nice rhythm.
Like the new picture of Sawyer on the zip-line.

tdragonfly, thank you so much :-) His mom told me the secret of getting him to run and laugh in those pictures - his dad is chasing him LOL :-) It was a couple of bungee cords harnessed to him, and he had to jump to make himself go higher - he was about twenty feet off the ground from jumping! :-) Brooke
