Thank you for sharing this delightful poem with us. It reminded me of Roald Dahl. I enjoyed the rhythm and the rhyme and the simplicity of the ideas and words. sometimes simple is best.

This is appropriate for the time of year. And as usual very nicely worded and presented. It's always a pleasure to read your posts.

Lovely rhyming couplets, Brooke. A clever idea for a poem. Might be a bit too creepy for the young ones. I enjoyed this, my friend~Debbie

How cute! Love the count-down rhyme, and so perfect for the Halloween season. The one falling in the soup kinda grosses me out. LOL Nice work!

Loved it.
Most of my family would not, however, as they all despise these creepy creatures.
Your poetic story was delightful to read and easy to enjoy, as the simple structure, word choice, consistent rhyme pattern and story line increased my interest right to the end.
Great job.

DS, thank you for your generous rating - hey, the creepy creatures are getting killed off one by one, so your family should love it. LOL :-) Brooke

That was adorable, Brooke. I liked how each stanza has less a spider (lol).
Ten spindly spiders crept among the crowd --
one ran away when the screaming got too loud.
A wonderful artwork to accompany your verse. Perfect poem for Halloween, equally delightful for kids 3 to 80 (smile).

This poem will surely capture a child's imagination in the terror of the tale but there's the comfort of their fallibility. But it'll probably magnify some people's fear of spiders-silliness as spiders are really harmless. Well done.

Hi Brooke this is a humorous tale told in poetic style. I think children might like this to be honest as they seem to like things that are a little scary.

Great job with your rhyming couplets and your poem about spindly spiders. Nice alliteration with "six spindly spiders".
Full of creepiness because I don't like spiders or snakes! 8-)
