I like the "spindly spider" description. It helped me to picture these creatures as I read about their demise. I was surprised you left one alive. I thought we would have zero at the end, but surprises are fun :) Anita

A good reverse counting poem - perfect for Halloween - and a great poem to recite if one is asked to perform a trick for their treat.
Nice and creepy, crawly - just the way kids like 'em.
Rose.

'Tis not good to be a spindly spider! Great artwork. Love this time of year . . . many spiders seek the warmth and solace inside a house! "They" say that we're never more than six feet away from a spider at any time. Hmmmmm. . . .

Ha ha!
...and arghh!
I feel quite sad for the poor spiders... I don't usually!
We have had an epidemic of the little critters this year - they're everywhere!
Great poem, Brooke. Love the humour, cleverness, and the simplicity of the telling.

Thank you so much, Cally. Yes, in a year with fewer of most bugs than usual, the spiders are invading my neighborhood too :-) Brooke

As always, six stars. Your talent amazes me. It seems you can write without effort, as this is how it comes across. Loved it!

This poem certainly fits the genre! It is delightful in it's consistent rhyme and the alliteration is a big thumbs up! The picture fits so well and the light colored lettering on black background make this an all around excellent poem! Good luck in the contest!

I thought children would love this one, Brooke. Very descriptive and imagery full, ideal for the fantasy of the younger audience.
A pleasant Halloween write suited for the event.
Couplets in good flow. Rhythmically sound.
Well done.
