Hi Sweet, pickles and tomato ketchup...maybe not. How about maple syrup on sausages, that's the Canadian one...or dried chilies and honey on pizza...I digress.
I enjoyed this different kind of love poem.

thanks so much, padumachitta, so far Sawyer the picky eater does not eat any meat or pizza either LOL Brooke

My neice went (what felt like years) eating spagettie with peanut butter....

peanut butter is one of his very short list of foods - why does it make everyone's list? LOL

Great poem with a happy feel to it. I liked the picture of sawyer. The poem makes you have a feeling that life is good and we should be careful to appreciate the little moments in life because they are what great memories are made of. Thank you for sharing.

A great children's poem dedicated to Sawyer. Lovely accompanying picture as well. Certainly shows lots of love and happiness. Loved the second stanza giggles and laughter as many in number as waves in the sea. One happy little boy whose so loved. Genya

Hi Brooke. This is certainly an imaginative piece of romantic poetry and very original, ie, not the usual love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage. "Pickles and ketchup, ice cream and goo." Good luck.

A delightful love poem with all the things that are important to Sawyer. I bet he is smiling and laughing when Miranda reads it to him. I hope someone is compiling these poems in a book so he will have them to treasure and pass on to his children. This is such a wonderful gift to give as you love comes through.
I love the simple rhythm and rhyme that make this very catchy to read aloud.

Pickles and ketchup- sounds like my kids - ketchup on everything. But we accept their concoctions just as we celebrate that which makes them unique. One I learned from my grandfather that actually tastes really good- peanut butter and pickle relish. Try it!

ravenblack, the kid gets his taste for pickles from his mother, not from his mother's mother LOL Thanks so much :-) Brooke

Yummy! What a delicious poem. It doesn't have to say much, but be well written, and that it is. It shows what a treat life is. Very uplifting. Thanks for putting a smile on my face. :))) Les

This is more like you, Brooke, bright and bubbly. What lovely photos, I think I can see cucumber in that bowl. Your poem has lots of lovely concoctions in it, making it such fun to read. I have decided I will only write fun poems from now on, at least for a while. I love this one. I am off on holiday on Tuesday, so won't be on here for ten days. I will catch up then. :) Sandra

Cute and charming. Well penned, with good rhythm and rhyme. I bet Sawyer loved this...especially the lines with Pickles and ketchup in the same sentence with ice cream and goo. :)
God alliteration and consonance of P in these lines:
Pants with a pocket,
Pickles and ketchup,
perfect companions
Nice presentation too.
Love,
rd

Wow! This was absolutely wonderful, I love pickles and ketchup and pickles and popcorn, I could go on and on. But when I child so innocently loves the same thing, it makes me wonder if I am just a child at heart lol. God Bless!
