A very well deserved contest winner! You have nicely given the readers a taste of your creativity in personifying plants and flowers in the garden. The conversation with Willow has been narrated so imaginatively that it looks real. Congrats and thanks for sharing with us.

I see in this writing symbolisms about the human character, and characters.
In the human community, we have our own Willows, Roses, Toadies, Oakleys and many more. The greedy Oakleys who look down at the Toadies; the showy Roses who are conscious of their appearance and the other members of the menagerie who all strive to establish their stand.
However, the majority of our weeping Willows deserve to be pushed to continue their struggle. The emphasized last line is a hint. To talk more, to encourage and to inspire seems to hold the key for a continuing hope.

We like to imagine that we human beings are the acme of creation but what is more complete than a full fledged tree in its wholeness and its completeness. Even a sad willow tree is more than a personification of our paltry, human world. Even the children of Israel bowed before the weeping willow and also wept when they remembered Zion. I think the fig tree could be better ennobled as a tragic figure and a thing of beauty. Introducing the rose in all its natural symmetry and radiance was a fine stroke. Forgive me for encroaching on your thoughts. -Ekim777

This is a softly spoken, dream of a story. I found myself sitting out in that garden, watching and listening to the ones communicating...while I learned valuable lessons. I enjoyed it very much.

Congrats on winning!
:That's not the way we see us" - an interesting concept - what is wild and out of place - and what should be accept and embrace in life around us.

I run out of 6 stars for this week my friend! This deserves more. Congratulations for winning the contest. Although I was so late to review this.
This is a very interesting and cleverly written story. I think I am like Weeping Willow. Worried about nothing. This touched the sensitive part of me, in fact, I'm crying. I am so down. But reading this made me ponder... Thank you. c", Mae

The personification worked especially well for me in this beautiful short story, M. I can easily see why it won the contest. You imparted it with a spiritual, even reverent feel. Bet you really do talk to your houseplants! :) Bev

Hi Mike. I sure enjoyed this story about a weeping willow. I think they are beautiful, but can make an awful mess, too. One line I find that might not be right. Nice write. Miss Sally
Well, there you are right there, Willow.. an extra there??

I truly enjoyed this ultimate in personification to make an awesome comparison to the "human garden ...smiles. That was a very creative idea! The same prejudices like "Toady" suffered, just like we humans endure. Differences are magnified. Oneness is denied. This was a very creative approach to the problems that face us as humans. This was a thought provoking piece. Namaste ~

Agricula? Such an odd name, obviously derived from the word agriculture. I believe it is the first time I've ever seen it.
"I see. Well,there you are right there, Willow."---Seems as if an extra "there" sneaked into this line somehow, Mikey. Or, perhaps it's just me?
I liked this tale of belonging, and realizing that we all have roles to fill in our own lives, and the lives of others. To be a positive influence on the lives of others is far better than the alternative.
Well done, Mikey, Congrats, and keep racking up those wins ad storing up those doubloons, LOL. :}
