Steve, I'm sure this would be able to turn many a woman's heart into a blushing thing. Pure, sweet, and with a focus of burning, enduring passion. Simply beautiful.

My fiance and I go back and forth about who loves who more. It's a fun little game we do. I loved this poem and I hope you show this to the special someone :)

Thank you.
Yes, I read it to my wife and she returned later for a second reading so it must work!

I wish I had one more six. This is a beautiful love poem. If there were a voting booth it would have my vote. AWESOME! If someone gave this poem to me in a card I would be ecstatic!

Thanks for the kind words and the virtual six.
A few reviewers have mentioned it would be appropriate for a greeting card. I have checked out Hallmark and they don't accept unsolicited submissions, but I gather there are other card companies that do... I'm going to look them up.

This is clearly a love poem.
Very solidly rhymed and upbeat.
A pleasant well crafted contest entry.
A worthy visual as well.

Thank you.
I do feel some of the other entries in this were not what I would call true love poems. A poem about love is different from a poem declaring love in my book.

Your perspective is well received Steve.
You're welcome.

What woman would not melt on receiving such a loving declaration? You have, I'm sure, melted many a heart with this wonderfully crafted message of love :-)
Best wishes for luck in the contest jurying :-)

Hey! How many women do you think I'm wooing?! :O)
Thanks for the kind words.
Steve
-
LOL - - - I wasn't implying wooing
I was implying women are suckers for "hearts and flowers of love". . .
so you set there thermostats rising! (I'm betting many a husband was beneficiary of the wake you left behind - wink, wink)

Excellent love poem for the contest, Steve. It's the kind of poem a lady wishes was written for her. Wonderful use of enjambments, alliteration, and rhymes. I've read about a hundred of these contest poems, so I wish you lots of luck.
Smiles,
Indy :-)

Thanks, Indy.
Yes, these are perhaps the most popular of the site contests - everyone thinks they can write a love poem!
Not really expecting a win with this, but who knows...
Steve
-
You never know. You've won several site contests, yes?
-
Yes, but never close in this category and my confidence is down after I didn;t even get a mention in the abab where I thought I had a good shot.

Beautiful poetic gesture for the object of your affection Steve, great rhythm to this lovely, gentle worded poem. It's language is sublime, the colours in you imagery, you've mentioned all the the things you obviously love, good one, blessings, Roy.

I expected a lot from the picture and got it . What a delight to read, beautiful flowing words in this poem of love and gratitude for the special things in life.
Would give you six but have none left

The diet must be kicking in - I was awfully tempted towards 'I love you more than carrot cake.'

Love in a more descriptive scale that compares it elements of nature. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a good read.
