Who named the gold tabby 'Potato'? I think it's none worse than any other, but it kind of funny. Meanwhile, I loved the poem. Although, if I ran into a house door with a cat that large I don't know that I would WANT to know what's behind the door ever again. :)

Thanks so much, Gargantuan. The naming is all Miranda's :-) All of her cats get P names - Pudge and Princess have since passed to the great beyond, and Pixie currently shares the family with Potato :-) Brooke

Brooke;
First let me congratulate you on your ABAB poetry contest winning for it is a remarkable poem that I had the pleasure reading.
I enjoyed reading this writing so much and opposes many questions they were more are just as important as the answers that people may find: "Who knows how many doors I have missed and what their secrets might have shown. The fact that I have been search them yet does not diminish what's unknown."
Your hypothetical imagery is very descriptive from more so expressive in your writing: "Though many long have realized that answers loom beyond their reach, too often they have failed to see that questions to have much to teach." This is where the questions are just as important as the answers.
Your rhyming was again spectacular in either forced nor labored and helped with the rhythmic flow Which in itself flowed smoothly throughout your writing.
Thank you so much for your sharing and posting of this writing, and may the good Lord, be always with you, Brooke.

Oh, yes! I liked this. Clever, intellectual words -- did you do an art degree? -- must have! Cute image too. This is a true and valuable life lesson. All good.

Curly Girly, thank you so much for your generous response to this poem. My degrees are in sociology and American Studies, but of course, the photos are my daughter's, not mine :-) Brooke

Is Potato enjoying a bit of solitude, or hiding from the Cute Little One? He looks like a busy character :) This is very well written, and makes you think a bit.

CR, thank you so much :-) Potato follows Sawyer around like the little lamb followed Mary. She will run to the other side of the room if he decides to get too hands on, but since the day he came home from the hospital, she has been his self-appointed body guard :-) Brooke

Behind the Door is another creative and perfectly written poem. Aways a masterpiece! How many doors we open tell us how rich our lives might be.

Writing this in iambic tetrameter is absolutely wonderful. Would like to take that challenge on one day. Has a great sound to it. Reads, oh so smoothly. Didn't curiosity kill the cat? LOL. Wonderfully crafted! Les

What a cute picture. Your words have a great message. I like the short length of this poem. I like the repeated line in of the first verse in the third verse. That ties the verses together and helps with the flow. Thank you for sharing this poem. Readers can take away an important message from it if they will.
