Very good, Brooke. I just don't know where you get all your ideas? It seems to me, they must arrive on your doorstep each morning, and then away you go with it. I think also, if it were like the olden days when I was a kid, some of your poems would or should be memorised like we used to do with Robert Frost, Walter de la Mare, Tennyson, and so many others. Awesome, Brooke.

Potato looks right at home in this poem. "Behind the Door." Nice abcb rhyme scheme. Learning to ask questions is an important strategy in comprehension. 8-)

Cute picture even though it's not of Sawyer! But I do hear his voice!! I admired your rhymes plus the "door/s" metaphor and lesson about the importance of asking questions. Cheers- Joan

There are so many mysteries that we do not know exist
Without questions nothing will be learnt or invented
Good use of abcb rhymes

Never met a cat called Potato, but glad to meet you, P.!
So many doors we struggle keep locked, for fear of the answers, and yet so many that we open to face another lot of new questions.
That's it for me! I am going to buy a score of padlocks, a hammer and a bag of nails. It should do the trick, right?

Love the pic of Potato in the firehouse,it is perfect for your words. I like the line That questions too have much to teach. It makes the reader think about how we learn and the value of being willing to continue to learn new stuff.

Iambic tetrameter...even if you had posted the meaning, it would have fallen on deaf ears...I think it's genetic. This is an awesome poem with an inspiring message. I enjoyed it immensely and just love the photo of Potato have a moment to him/hersself.

I don't normally judge a poem by the graphics - but this picture of Potato is priceless, and compliments the poem perfectly.

Another great teaching poem, Brook. The meter, as usual, is flawless.

Rose.

Rose, thank you - I fell in love with this photo the second I saw it. Potato gives Sawyer a run for his money in the photo subject race :-) Brooke

oooh Brooke! This so much reminded me of a line in a Michael Card song which goes something like this: "Could it be that questions tell us more than answers ever do..."

"Curiosity may have killed the cat", but it is to applauded in children and adults alike!
You've chosen a grand way to convey that in the melodic piece!

Hugs and blessings and thanks for sharing!

The questions we don't ask may be as important, perhaps more important than those we do ask. Your poem is quite insightful; the picture of Potato is also delightful. Evi
