A great one, Brooke and how very true. We pass by so much of life without even noticing it, what a shame. This looks like sa good lead-in to your always entertaining Halloween poems. Have a blessed evening, my friend~Debbie

Behind the door I've never been
may be the questions never asked,

WOW! This is really deep. I love the idea of knowing what questions to ask being of such importance. It's true. Mark is an engineer and part time teaches students in Chinese universities (via Skype). He tells his students the same thing...learn what questions to ask before you can find answers that work. In life, just as in engineering, perspective is critical. You have to be able to look from all sides, even those you're not yet aware of. I wish that were the case when people voted. Or when politicians looked at problems before them. Limited perspective nearly always causes horrible mistakes.

This is a thought provoking piece. One I feel is so true, because of my life experiences. It's like if I never take the doors of opportunity given, never walked through them, I wouldn't have known what questions and answers I needed to grow. I do understand this poem. :)

Does Sawyer know how famous he is?? :)

The wisdom in your delightful poems is profound.

Thank you, Brooke!

Who knows how many doors I've missed
and what their secrets might have shown (?)

Thanks so much, Sonali :-) I've told him he is famous around the globe, but since he is only two years old, remarkable as he is, he has no clue what I'm talking about. LOL :-)

Some FS ladies visited Toronto last week and the Toronto area writers gathered with them for a non-stop talkathon. It was great fun. Yes, young Sawyer did come up in the conversation!

Brooke: during this stressful time of mine, I know that it will always be a pleasure to read one of your poems and take my mind off my troubles. This one did not disappoint. I read it through three times. I like the last stanza best. Never stop seeking the truth. Linda

Your poem reminds of the song "What lies behind the green door?" It's amazing how many times in in one's life we are confronted by that same question. You've produced a decent smooth flow through this poem Brooke, I never tire of your well written anecdotes, your well rhymed abab, with a smooth meter, well done, blessings, Roy.
