Great meter, form and rhyme. Such a beautiful picture to compliment the poem. Yes, we can go around the world and still our most fun times are the simple things done at home. Great work.

To Jmf4119,
Good expression and imagery as your g-nephew enjoys the lasting and fun-filled days of summer.
Good proximate rhyming- blue/view; shore/roar
Alliteration- perfect place

A lovely poem, nice to have a taste of summer again. My kids had one of those and did they have fun in our garden. Good use of rhyming and imagery to convey your thoughts. Just a suggestion, you could change verse 3, line 3, to boulder, rock and beam, then it would rhyme with stream better. Most enjoyable. Faye

We had many a slip-n-slide as my kids grew up. Hours of fun and coolness it did provide.
I like the journey of your poem. It did refresh my mind back to summer although it wasn't to long ago (can't tell by the Jersey weather).
Nicely done. John

Cute lighthearted piece. The poem read easily from start to finish with a good choice of rhymes that flowed unforced. I enjoyed reading your work.

I remember when Slip 'n Slides first came out - all the rage! We had one, and I think my dad used it more than we did. LOL Love this easygoing, fun poem. Enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing!

A beautiful, bliss filled photo of a youngster enjoying the thrill of water play that most children enjoy, great poem, I enjoyed the sheer exhilaration of the beautifully worded work, capturing the moment of joy in verse. Great abab rhyming, a fluidity to the poem makes it evenly metered, blessings, Roy.

Very nice, and a fitting poem for the end of warm temperatures. I can't say I agree a slip -n- slide will do me, but for the little one, it's just fine. Well done.

This is a nice poem. The rhyming flows, and the imagery is great. Simple but really childlike and innocent. Reminds me that the simple things are the best in life.

This is nicely written. It makes me think of my grandchildren using the slip'n slip this summer as well. They had a good time, but a hole developed and the water that was inside the slip drained out, but they slid anyway.
It's so much fun watching kids having a good time. I loved reading this poem as I could relate so well. Great job!
