The ball and chain is a great metaphor for the struggles in life. Sounds like you're almost a slave, or at least that's how I feel with all the great burdens we face everyday. Well crafted. Les

I enjoy this echo effect, the repeat of a line. It hits me like an echo -- echo... Some good word choices and has meaning. A very touching spiritual poem, indeed. Looks like something you created. It is different, in a good sense. We need spirituality in these dark, dismal wicked days. Good job! wackydo

Kept looking for a "my fair lady!" to pop in there. Rather
nice bit of free verse. Does seem to lend itself to musical
notions.

I think yes to song lyrics. I found myself getting into a musical rhythm when reading it. Love the message about giving the keys to our ball and chain to Jesus. 8-)
