You wrote a very beautiful poem right here and I think it is
a perfect one for the contest. I see you had a lot of reviews who also loved it. I am sure it will do quite well in the contest, though I have no idea when the contest ends.

Hey there rama
Your poem is a superb compliment to the nature of love and those who extend it to everyone they meet. I have such a mentor in President Thomas S. Monson, the president of the LDS Church. I have known him since 1963 and like Amma, has given selflessly all the time and according to reports his entire life. I try to pattern my life after him. Lovely write

Hi rama
As I read your poem, I thought of this Bible verse,
"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" 1 John 4:20
"When
supreme love
enters
the fiber
of one's being,
all windows
to hatred
slam shut." ... I can almost hear the slam of a window being shut.
"Not a single crack opens
to anything other than
compassion, forgiveness,
patience and affection"... I think of this verse,
"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering" Colossians 3:12

I like the alliteration in these lines,
"Love's presence prevails...
prompting potent,
jubilant
joy."
and,
"When divine devotion dawns,
doors of sorrow shut forever"

This statement is profound,
"Darkness dies
inside of light."
"This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5

Nicely penned! Good luck in the contest!

What a beautiful poem, and I can believe every word of it. It is so wonderful to be a vessel for the Divine love that can fill a human heart. You are blessed to know such people. I absolutely loved your closing line... Darkness dies inside of light. How TRUE!
