Alliteration on parade, just in time for the Halloween month. I could picture a kindergarten or first grade teacher reading this to his/her students....the kids would love the sound of the poem and the sound words as well. Great rhyme and rhythm, too.

Blimey Brooke! LOL
When I saw the picture, I presumed this to be about some wretched disease of the intestinal tract..
Funny thing when I was reading your ghoulish tale, the white of the lettering I am sure was coming out from the page LOL
A great Halloween scary/fun feel.
Kind regards

LOL - I will have to have a go at an intestinal tract poem some other time ;-) Thanks so much, Tracey :-) Brooke

I have no doubt you could!
In fact, I dare you to write about the intestinal tract and make it sound beautiful!

Wow, you are eager for Halloween to happen! Of course, I relished the abundant alliteration and rhymed couplets. But most of all, I enjoyed being swept away by the ghoulish mood you created. BOO! -Joan

Dear Brooke, even when you write something
scary is beautiful. I specially like this ...
Ghoulies grumble, goblin growl,
do it loud but do it now--
Soon you wont be heard or seen
till you reign next Halloween.

Well stated!
The rhyme scheme was wonderfully structured and was delightful to read. The Halloween theme was playfully and cleverly portrayed.
Nicely done.

Okay, this is another side I haven't seen. You can go creepy, but with a light heartedness in the lines. Great work, and perfect for the season.

I love Halloween and all the images it brings to mind. Your ghouls and ghosts and goblins and monsters put me in the mood for Halloween fun. The imagery in this poem is very clear lending a creepy atmosphere. And I do like the last two lines! Beware of what is to come when Halloween comes again! The use of alliteration made this fun to read aloud. Excellent, Brooke. Blessings, Linda
