Love this one Brooke. Fantastic meter and wonderful alliteration throughout. I think Sawyer will love this one when he's old enough to be scared out of his wits ;-).

A fantastic one for me to return to. Jaq xx

There is plenty of alliteration in this talented poem Brooke.
Ghoulies grumble, ghosties groan, goblins growl and monsters moan. Eqach stanza has a high point. Very nice poem. Nancy

Thanks so much, Jenny, for the laugh and the review :-) I've lost over 60 pounds since June 1 - this ends my fourth month of being a good good girl, so I feel your pain. I would fight alligators to get to a piece of chocolate :-) Brooke

this is an excellent Halloween write, brooke, you did an excellent job with the meter and alliteration. I didn't think we'd get Halloween poetry until October. I remember you are good for a few weeks of them every year.

There is a scene in The Lion King where one of the hyenas shivers at the name Mufasa, then she says with naughty, delight,"Say it again." I enjoyed that same naughty, delightful shiver as I read your frightneng Halloween poem. It made me tingle in all the right places. LOL.

This poem gives a spirited tone to Halloween, largely because it relies on sounds, not gory details, to arouse the imagination.
Good use of G & C alliteration and onomatopoeia.
The ABAB quatrains work very well here.

Excellent alliteration in this Halloween poem, Brooke. Love all the g-words that gives your poem an eerie feel that's perfect for the ghoulish season. As always, your rhymes and enjambment are awesome.
Smiles,

Halloween is losing it popularity due to children being hurt while trick or treating. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

Thanks so much, Charlie - it's still quite popular around here, but then again, nothing ever happens in our sleepy suburbs :-) Brooke

I know you love Halloween and I am sure we will get more fabulous poems from you to read. I can't wait. I also can't wait to see what Sawyer's costume will be. LOL

Tanks so much, Barbara :-) He's going to be Mike Walinski or whatever his name is from Monsters Inc and also Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story - him mom always gets more than once since he goes to so many Halloween events. LOL and because she loves to buy him clothes and dress him up, if truth be told :-)

This is yet another interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of work. We never know what may be going bump in the night.
