You nailed it, Lee, that moment when a woman accepts the role others cast her in and leaves her most intimate self behind, or maybe stashed in the back of the underwear drawer where the flounce and frills once waited. You awakened memories...made me cry without a word of dialog and nothing dying but a part of self. Is there a better word than "Outstanding"? This story deserves it. :) Nancy

Thank you, Nancy. I admire this woman. Not her choice, but her guts. I don't want her to do it, but she does what she thinks will resolve an issue. So complex. I hate what she's doing, but I understand.
I know you do, too. Thank you. Peace, Lee

Silly girl her husband may appreciate the "sexy" underwear, a no nonsense man, a good man! I enjoyed this well written and composed work, it was well designed and composed, the character well defined and believable, the story was absorbing and readable, no errors that I could detect! Well done, blessings, Roy.

Well, that's sad. I have mixed feeling about this one. I can see her point, wanting to please her husband and be a practical 'good' wife, but it felt so much like she was letting a special part of herself go. Didn't he miss that side of her?
For a guy, you did a pretty good job of looking into the mind of this mother/wife. So much so that she disturbs me. I'm waiting for her to crack and shoot the family...

Ellen, you've hit it right on the head. I weep for this woman because she's burning her sad bridges. She's exhausted.
And you're right! What reasonable man wouldn't want
to nurture that part of a woman?

Yeah, I'm a little proud of this, Ellen. I love women. This story was a gift.

Thanks for reading all the complexities.

Just about my limit of prose length, Lee.

I'm not always a fan of repetition, but your 'a good man, no nonsense' is perfect to compare the difference between comfort and boredom in a relationship with the often required bit of naughtiness and excitement thrown in, too.

I wonder if hubby secretly wears wifey's sexy underwear. LOL.

Excellent and original topic.

VERY entertaining.

Here's a sixer.

Cheers, Ray.

Ray, I had you in mind when I stopped writing. I knew you'd appreciate my brevity. Just like panties, brevity is also the soul of prose. Even when I write long, I try to be brief.
Thank you so much for the insightful comments, and the galaxy.
    Much appreciated.

    Peace, Lee

    LMAO, Lee - innuendo intended.

VERY witty 'long/brief' - you sure have a way with words.

    Cheers, mate. Ray.

It is odd that women will cling to making her own decisions until it comes to the unmentionables. Then she yield to the man. This is very well written.

Thank you, Charlie. Yield is a good word. When her panties are gone, so is she. Peace, Lee
