Oh my goodness, the kid is flying! What a great wee poem and a super shot! Your Sawyer poems are always so much fun, Brooke!

(I don't know how you do it, though - I can't keep up with replies and reviews at all - I just haven't got enough hours in a day, and even your little, tiny poems like this one pay so highly! You must review all day and night! LOL)

    I do a heck of a lot of reviewing - a sad testament to my social life :-) Tonight I help out with my nieces' annual MS bingo party - my sister has MS, so I will be away from home for many hours - that doesn't happen all that often :-)

    Oh, I haven't been to a bingo in years! Wish I could come with! :) Yeah, well, as for a social life, what's that? I have become such a recluse the past few years I'm turning into a real grouch when I DO go out. (LOL)

    I'm home. It was a fun night - this was our 11th year doing it. Now I need to sleep a long while. LOL :-)

    Did you play? Did you win? I'm jealous. LOL. Sweet dreams. I'm still here...sad, huh?

    Oops - gotta go charge now. (Laptop.)

    No, I don't play. I'm the person sitting up front who checks the numbers of anyone who calls out Bingo to make sure they actually won :-) The event raises money for the National MS Society in honor of my oldest sister, who has MS :-)

at times the only option is --
to damn the path and leap. Very cleverly written with a strong message in this epigram.
solid abcb rhyme
Lovely picture of Sawyer

Brooke do you mean ....to dam the path and leap..? Damn is damnation..not a Sawyer word :o) I think leaping over obstacles is the only way. Or turning them into magical lily pads to do my bidding lol
God bless

    Jenny, thanks so much. Nope, I meant damn it, like to say damn with following this path - it's time to take a more daring way - and no, I do not mean for this to be a poem read to children, which is why I did not label it a children's poem :-) Brooke

Okay, now you've got me thinking...because I like the short ones and I couldn't agree more with the message conveyed here. Could it also be construed to mean jump over the head of your compromised supervisor to the next level in the chain of command when seeking resolution to a big problem?!

    Sounds like it could mean that to me! :-) Thanks so much, flamingstar :-) Brooke

Well said, so very true;
A small poem which sends a great message;
"to damn the path and leap"--sometimes the only way to achieve success is to jump over obstacles.
A well-penned lesson for young and old.

So few words but they pack a punch. You can take these words literally and figuratively . Either way it presents something we all need to learn. Sometimes we need to just leap into action.

Whoa! Have you got a future Olympic high hurdles champion there in your midst, Brooke? Okay, so it's only a plastic ring, lying on the floor. But, you must learn to crawl before you can ever run...right?

Very cute, another uplifting and lighthearted poetic offering with an uplifting, positive message.

Well done! :}

Wonderful.

ep-i-gram = A short, witty poem expressing a single thought or observation. (The American Heritage Dictionary; 4th Ed).

Short it was. Witty it was. Poetic it was. Single in thought it was. Rhyming it was. PITHY it was.

It was great.
