Many times women don't realize their influence and power. You've written about Ethel, a woman who, while standing in place, fulfilled her role perfectly. Great job with this. I think there are many Ethels, unsung heroes. Marilyn

This is so inspirational. Always said I would love to do something like that when I was finished with sending my children to college.
Well written and held my attention to the end.
Good deeds seldom go unnoticed and what you did was tremendous. Congrats

Pat, this writing challenge is met with solid writing and inserts the words in a natural and flowing way. The story has a redeeming message that is inspirational in many ways. Well done. The only thing I see is a few paragraphs that need a space to separate them. :0 GracieAnn

This story brought me to tears. I am too aware that goodness to other is always paid back with more love and the rewards are not in money. One cannot buy the true love of others, only our good deeds and love for others can do that. The story flowed and was touching all the way through. God bless all those people like Ethel, we need more people like her. A beautiful piece of writing. Great work. Keith. :)xx

Thank you Keith. I enjoy writing this kind of story so maybe, just maybe someone will read it and think about how they can spend their time helping other and not thinking so much about themselves.
I have a dear friend here that works many hour in the soup kitchens and at the end of her day she is so very weary, but always express how blessed she was in doing it.

Thank you for the nice review. I like writing pieces like this and do wish our newspapers would devote at least 1 Page a week to acts f giving or helping of people in our communities. I dare say it would make for a nicer world.

I love this story. It is a story of success. A lady named Ethel who devoted her time to help kids attain education of their own. The story builds smoothly and beautifully. At the end the gesture and recognition for her struggles became a surprise to her and that she was given an honor. She was also given a treat to visit the world. Nowhere in her dreams did she think seeing many countries in her life. Very nice story. I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end.
